As the EU prepares to finalise its 2024-2029 Strategic Agenda, a coalition of 54 civil society stakeholders, businesses, cities, and regions from across Europe, including eco-union, is urgently calling for a strategy that prioritises the transition to a climate-neutral, green, fair, and social Europe.

In a letter addressed to EU Heads of State, the coalition outlines 4 key recommendations to ensure the lasting well-being of all Europeans while bolstering competitiveness, security, and global engagement:

  • Maintain the building of a ‘climate-neutral, green, fair and social Europe’ as one of the main priorities;
  • Put public funding, economic governance and an EU budget equipped for the future squarely on the agenda;
  • Urgently prioritise social and democratic concerns;
  • An approach to international relations that seeks to build lasting security and solidarity through mutually beneficial clean transition partnerships.
