Last Friday 6th of April, eco-union and the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed) organized a presentation of the report at Casa Árabe in Madrid. The 24th of April the findings will be discussed with the Union for the Mediterranean in Barcelona.

The Green Finance in the Mediterranean report has been developed together by the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed) and eco-union, with the support of MAVA foundation.

The study focuses on the emergence of critical environmental issues, from global warming to biodiversity loss, these problematics requires a deep integration of sustainability concerns into the mechanisms of the global economy.
The current need to implement sustainable development involves the use of new forms of finance, both in the public and private sector.

In the Mediterranean region, green finance holds the promise of a widespread and integrated way to address environmental challenges. The aim of this study is to analyze the dynamics of green finance in the Mediterranean countries and to identify the current state of the art, future trends and possible recommendations for policy-makers.
